Question 2 Who is eligible to participate in the program?

Answer: The program serves adults who are cognitively aware, independently mobile, and able to make their own decisions, with a verifiable source of income such as employment, SSI, SSDI, veteran benefits, pensions, or approved vouchers.

 

Question 3 Is JK’s Home of Love a halfway house or medical facility?

​

Answer: No. We run a structured independent shared living program, not a halfway house, treatment center, or medical facility. We do not provide medical, clinical, or therapeutic services.

 

Question 4 Is the program drug- and alcohol-free?

 

Answer: Yes. JK’s Home of Love maintains a strict drug- and alcohol-free environment. Program members are subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Any possession, use, or positive test result for drugs or alcohol will result in immediate termination from the program.

Question 6 What are the living arrangements and amenities?

 

Answer: Program members share a furnished bedroom in a fully furnished home and have access to a shared bathroom, common living areas, a kitchen, and onsite laundry facilities, all within a clean, structured, and respectful environment.

Question 8 How do I apply or refer someone to the program?

 

Answer: You may apply online or contact us directly to begin the intake process. Applications include eligibility screening, income verification, and acknowledgment of program rules and expectations.

 

Question 9 Is there a curfew or visitor policy?

 

Answer: Yes. The program has established curfew and visitor policies to promote safety, structure, and respect for all program members. Full guidelines are reviewed during intake and orientation.

 

Question 10 Do program members provide their own food?

 

Answer: Yes. Program members are responsible for purchasing and preparing their own food and may use shared kitchen space and storage.

 

Question 11 Are weapons allowed on the property?

 

Answer: No. Weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited on the property to ensure the safety of all program members, staff, and visitors.

 

Question 12 Are pets or animals allowed in the program?

 

Answer: No. Animals and pets are not permitted, including emotional support or companion animals, due to the shared living environment.

Answer: No. The program does not provide transportation. Program members are responsible for arranging their own transportation.

Answer: Yes. Security cameras are used in exterior and common shared areas to promote safety and accountability. Cameras are never placed in private areas such as bedrooms or bathrooms.

Question 16 Are shared bedrooms co-ed?

Answer: No. Shared bedrooms are not co-ed. Program members only share rooms with others of the same gender to support privacy, comfort, and safety.

Our Community

  • We welcome adults in Indianapolis seeking a safe, supportive shared living environment who can manage daily living independently.

  • Residents must understand and agree to program guidelines and participate in their housing responsibilities, with or without supportive services.

  • A stable, verifiable income is required, including SSI, SSDI, employment, retirement, veterans’ benefits, or approved community vouchers.
